This Ausgrid project set out to replace the existing steel electricity towers that no longer met the required structural reliability and capacity requirements to meet failure mode configurations. The solution to increase the network security was a dual concrete pole system.
Environmentally Sensitive
Works took place within Georges River National Park in NSW and required the removal of a number of trees to enable the works to be carried out efficiently. Significant geotechnical testing and surveying was undertaken in collaboration with a specialist ecologist to mitigate and minimise removal requirements. A detailed reinstatement plan was developed to restore the National Park Bushland to meet National Parks and Wildlife standards and expectations. Vaughan successful oversaw the reinstatement which included over 4000 Native plants of 43 different species.
