Moorebank Intermodal Precinct (MIP) is Australia’s largest intermodal precinct developed across 243 ha and includes 850,000 sqm of warehousing and two rail terminals with a container capacity of 1,550,000 TEU’s per annum. There is a direct link to Port Botany via dedicated trains to ship containers between the site to the port via the IMEX terminal. The INTS terminal is designed to ship containers interstate and to regional NSW areas. The Precinct has an embedded network for power and communications that is currently reticulated at 11kV. There are plans for 60MW of rooftop solar generation to be connected to this embedded network. There is insufficient capacity in the current connections to Endeavour Energy (EE) at 11kV to satisfy both the load and generation requirements of MIP hence a new connection at 33kV is being installed.
LOGOS have awarded Vaughan Civil the supply and installation of 2 x 33kV Switching Stations and the associated inground utility and civil works.
The new 33kV connection requires changes to five EE feeders to connect 40MVA to MIP. 3 underground feeders will run along Anzac Road, while two existing overhead lines along Junction Road will be joined by a new feeder.
Two 33kV Switching Stations are required at MIP. The three Anzac Road feeders will terminate at the new Endeavour Energy (EE) switching station (Moorebank Hub). This new EE switching station will then supply a LOGOS 33kV Switching Station via two feeders. The LOGOS 33kV Switching Station will feed 33kV onto the western precinct (MPW) for two warehouse supply loops and also feed two 33kV/11kV transformers.
